Ever since the Nintendo Switch got released certain fans have still wanted to have the MMORPG and we have also heard it from the director Naoki Yoshida as well. The only problem that makes a livable dream is Cross-Play and hopefully that changes soon. Sony and Square Enix approached Microsoft denied both the ability to do Cross-Play with Xbox 360 so now that it’s open, the game could come to both Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
As Yoshida was speaking with Gamespot he had these words to say:
“Talks with platform-holders has been going on. The fundamental philosophy with Final Fantasy XIV is we want it on labels with cross-platform play with any devices, hardware possible. So as long as the regulations with the counterpart hardware companies… we can actually pass that, then the possibility, the chance is quite high [of Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox and Nintendo systems].
So we are talking with Nintendo, Microsoft, and Google, of course; we cannot say anything at the moment because we are still in negotiations, but once we have details we can make an announcement; we can bring the news to everyone. We are currently negotiating will all those platforms.”
As mentioned several times he wants to push the title on all platforms meaning Nintendo Switch as well and I doubt this would be a free-to-play title with this game requiring a monthly to play it. Would be intrested in getting this on Nintendo Switch or Xbox One if it released it? Join the conversation on Twitter!
