Sony Interactive Interactive has supported Cross-Play for over 15 years, all the way back to 2000 with the PlayStation 2 (Need for Speed: Underground Cross-Play was incredible). So naturally, newer PlayStation platforms have Cross-Play titles as well. Let’s go over some of the best in the modern era!

Mecho Wars: Desert Ashes

  • Platforms – PS Vita and Nintendo Switch
  • Cross-Save – No
  • Cross-Buy – No

This turn based strategy classic has you playing with land, air, and sea units. It is actually quite similar to a game like Advance Wars or Wargroove which is very awesome since both those games are superb.

Please note: while this game is on PS4, only the PS Vita and Nintendo Switch versions support Cross-Play

Dauntless

  • Platforms – PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC
  • Cross-Save – No
  • Cross-Buy – No

Dauntless is a free-to-play Action RPG where you can kill giant monsters and craft better gear to kill even stronger monsters. Think an easier version of Monster Hunter but you can play with your friends anywhere.

Rocket League

  • Platforms – PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Cross-Save – No
  • Cross-Buy – No

Soccer cars! Rocket League wouldn’t have been the cultural phenomenon it wasn’t for PlayStation and it only seemed fitting to have it on this list. Between PS4, Xbox, Nintendo, Windows, and macOS gamers being pit against each other, this high action eSport is a delight.

Rec Room

  • Platforms – PS VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality
  • Cross-Save – No
  • Cross-Buy – No

Laser tag, capture the flag, dodge ball! You name it, Rec Room likely got it. Grab a load of your favorite friends and fool around to no tomorrow! Best part it, it’s FREE!

Terraria

  • Platforms – PS3, PS4, PS Vita
  • Cross-Save – Yes
  • Cross-Buy – Yes (between PS3 and PS Vita only)

Initially thought to just be a 2D Minecraft title, this soon became a classic in the gaming community. There is an absurd about of bosses, weapons, and even trophies. With over 1000 hours in the game I still haven’t managed to get that damn platinum.

Final Fantasy XIV

  • Platforms – PS4, Windows, macOS
  • Cross-Save – Yes
  • Cross-Buy – No

A courageous MMO set in the universe of Final Fantasy, you can play through massive DLC stories (A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood) as well as the main event. Since this is an MMO, it will support mouse and keyboard on PS4 which you’ll need since there is so many keys you can use to play.

Dragon’s Crown

  • Platforms – PS3, PS4, PS Vita, PS TV
  • Cross-Save – Yes
  • Cross-Buy – Yes (between PS3 and PS Vita only)

Dragon’s Crown is one of the best games on PlayStation. This 2D Action RPG set in a medieval fantasy world has you traveling through dungeons and labyrinths.

Sparc

  • Platforms – PS VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive
  • Cross-Save – No
  • Cross-Buy – No

Sparc is an insanely addictive vSport where you have to hit a ball back and fourth using a shield while at the same time essentially throwing it back at the opponent to try and win. It is also perfect for a workout, this game really gets you sweating.
