THQ Nordic has revealed they have 48 Unannounced titles currently in development in their 2018-2019 Extended Financial Year Report.

The report begins by explaining THQ Nordic has experienced another stable growth quarter, with net sales increasing 158% during January 2019 – March 2019 in comparison to the same months last year, riven primarily by the February release of Metro Exodus.

It goes on to say that the company has invested 305.2 Million Swedish Krona, £24,992,828, into their growing development pipeline which will drive the Group’s growth and profitability within the coming years.

This investment has meant that, over the past year, THQ Nordic has managed to sign multiple new development agreements, including one with 4A Games, the developers of the Metro franchise.

By the end of this quarter, January to March 2019, THQ Nordic, Deep Silver and Coffee Stain had a total of 80 games in development, of which 48 titles are currently unannounced. One of these unannounced games is also a new 4A game, which will be another full AAA-Project.

The report then goes on to say that, during the quarter, THQ Nordic also invited Warhorse Studios, developers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, to join the group alongside the Australian publishing partner 18POINT2.

This financial report was quickly followed by the announcement that THQ Nordic had also acquired the legendary game studio Piranha Bytes.

Piranha Bytes, the German developers of Gothic, Risen and ELEX, said that they were very excited to join the group, and that THQ Nordic’s unparalleled experience and capabilities in game development and publishing would make them the perfect partner to support Piranha in taking their studio to the next level.

Under the agreement Piranha Bytes will remain an independent game development studio that will focus and concentrate on the creation of outstanding and unique RPG gaming experiences, with full creative freedom over their products and all the active owners of the studio remaining in their current roles.
