Sony Interactive Entertainment’s President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida took a trip to visit Housemarque, makers of PlayStation exclusives Resogun (which launched with the PS4), Dead Nation, Alienation, and Matterfall. Their current title, an online multiplayer exclusive to PC that pits players in yet another Battle Royal title. So there must be something cooking besides that.
Later on, XDEV Europe, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s external development branch replied with 2 eye emojis, teasing a new game is in development in collaboration with them.
What do you think this could be? Housemarque could be returning to their indie roots instead of doing a AAA title but it might seem like they won’t be the case this time round. We might see another AAA title with Sony’s backing and maybe even an acquisition now that Jim Ryan says they’re open for business in terms of acquiring talent. Let’s just be prepared for a PS5 launch title exclusive! 😉
