MortalKombat11_DLC_ShangTsung-1024x436The leaks were true, thus continuing the streak of literally everything about this game being leaked ahead of time.

We’ve known about Shang Tsung, as he was leaked well before launch and officially confirmed before launch as well, but a new gameplay video was released today showing him off, and it looks fantastic. Shang Tsung has always had the ability to turn into different characters, and in Mortal Kombat 11 they really went all out. His moveset includes moves taken from all the ninjas throughout Mortal Kombat history. Shown in the trailer he has a counter that turns him into Smoke, an acid slide that turns him into reptile, a telekinetic grab that turns him into Ermac, a water bubble attack that turns him into Rain, and his fatal blow features Sub Zero, Scorpion and Noob Saibot. No moves from Sektor or Cyrax however, at least none that were shown off in the trailer. Shang Tsung is voiced and modeled after the same actor that played him in the Mortal Kombat movie, and sports a new outfit as well. He will be released on June 18th along side classic outfits for Noob, Scorpion and Sub Zero.

This trailer also confirms 3 more characters joining the roster. Sindel, Nightwolf and Spawn will be added to the game sometime after Shang Tsung. These characters were also in the leaks, so we’ve known about them for quite some time actually. It will be nice to see Spawn in another fighting game again since the last time we saw him was in SoulCalibur 2. The trailer ends with a hint at two more characters joining the game, without saying who they are specifically. However a music beat from Terminator is heard in the back ground alongside a rev of a chainsaw, so it falls right in line with the leaks that revealed Ash from the Evil Dead, and the Terminator.

This is just another in a long line of leaks for this game, but at least he’s looking to be a fun character to play. It’s nice to see Rain, Reptile, Smoke and Ermac again as well and his fatality features Kintaro which is super cool. I would prefer them to be their own characters but it’s still nice to see them. If these leaks continue to be true, it looks like we can expect a really interesting second batch of DLC as well.

Whatever happens, I’m excited.
