The co-founder to Rocksteady Games, Sefton Hill, confirms that the studio will not be announcing a new game at E3 2019. They want to be clear so no speculation can upset fans by letting them down. Kevin Conroy, the man who voices Batman in the Arkham series, said a while back “now let’s get to work and create more ARKHAM!” Rumors have been swirling the past few months that the next game from this studio will indeed be a Justice League get set in the Arkham universe while WB Montreal creates the rumored Batman: Court of Owls, set after the events of Arkham Origins and before Arkham Asylum.
Rocksteady is likely not revealing their next title due to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s absence from E3, as they have marketed every DC game on console for over a decade now.
The last game the British studio released was Batman: Arkham VR for PlayStation VR in 2016. It was later brought to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift in 2017. Rocksteady’s next game could even turn out to be a VR game since they are experienced with the medium.
