Annapurna Interactive and Giant Sparrow’s absolutely touching What Remains of Edith Finch is coming to Nintendo Switch next week. The Japanese eShop listing mentions that the game will be 2.2GB large, which isn’t much more than PS4’s 2.79GB size.
What Remains of Edith Finch follows well, Edith Finch, the last remaining family member in the long line Finch members. Each of the Finches died deaths thanks to their own demise essentially, and their luck is very, very, VERY bad. The narrative is creative though, and extremely touching. It is without a question a must play title.
The game sits at a 92 on Metacritic and won Game of the Year at the 2018 BAFTA awards, beating out the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
What Remains of Edith Finch initially released in April 2017 for PS4 and PC, it was originally going to be a PS4 exclusive since it was externally developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment but then Annapurna Interactive scooped up the rights to the game. It launched on Xbox One shortly after in July 2017 and finally seems to be coming to Nintendo Switch in July 2019, 2 years after the release on Xbox.
