Legendary actor Rip Torn has passed away in his home in Lakeville, Connecticut today at the age of 88. The actor was known for many roles including Artie in The Larry Sanders Show back in the 90s and Zed in Men in Black, but he also had a love for Greek Mythology.

His love for that caused him to voice Zeus in the Disney Interactive games Hercules and Hercules Animated Storybook in 1997 and 1998 respectively. He also took on the role of the Greek God Hephaestus in the Sony Interactive Entertainment title God of War III, which Santa Monica Studio took to Twitter to wish the family their condolences.

We are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of such a prolific actor and someone who shared the love of video games like the rest of us, his role in gaming is something not many new about but something very appreciated.
