A new Super Monkey Ball game could be coming sooner rather than later. According to a ratings list from the Taiwanese Ratings Board (below), one is on the way for the PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. The title translates from Chinese (現嚐好滋味！超級猴子球) to Now Taste Good! Super Monkey Ball. There is also a Japanese (たべごろ！スーパーモンキーボール) title which translates to The Food is Great! Super Monkey Ball (both translated via Google Translate). This probably implies that there will be some cooking elements to the game, maybe we’ll get to make banana splits or banoffee pies or something. This comes after earlier in the year when Sega renewed the trademark for Super Monkey Ball in Japan. Which also pointed towards a food related Super Monkey Ball game.
The wait has been a long one for Super Monkey Ball, the last game came to iOS and Android in 2014 called Super Monkey Ball: Bounce. The game released before that was the Vita game Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz in 2012. But the last console game was 2010’s Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll for the Nintendo Wii. It still obviously remains unclear what this game is, fans of the series will hope it will be a return to the traditional gameplay of the first couple of games in the series. All will become clear when the game gets officially revealed.
