Overwatch agents report for duty, the annual summer games event started today with the usual limited time game mode Lucio Ball with new skins available to purchase, the statement on the update reads as follows.

Summer Games is back for 2019, and we’re kicking it off with a new event feature, Weekly Challenges! In addition to the new rewards you’ll be able to earn, your favorite cosmetic unlocks from years past will be available, giving you a chance to catch up on any rewards you may have missed.

Log in now through August 5th to get in on the Summer Games Fun!


Weekly Challenges introduce a new way for players to unlock limited-time rewards every week for playing Overwatch

9 wins in Quick Play, Competitive Play, or the Arcade grand players limited-time sprays, player icons, and an Epic ski on top of standard earnings normally received for playing Overwatch

Once the week’s challenge has expired, the rewards will be replaced by a new set of sprays and icons, along with a new Epic skin for the new wee


This year’s Summer Games includes 4 new Legendary skins and 3 new Epic skins

New cosmetics also include 1 highlight intro, 2 emotes, 3 victory poses, 9 new player icons, and 2 new sprays

The new skins range from 3 Epic skins which are for Mei, Reinhardt, and Reaper which like other Epic skins don’t drastically change much from their base form other than a few distinct changes. The Legendary skins on the other hand are a major change form what the character used to be, the 4 characters to get new Legendary skins this time around are Wrecking Ball who’s ball turns into a Lucio Ball, Genji who dons the Kendoka armor to show off his sword skills, Hanzo who gets into some beach wear but still carries his bow and arrow, Torbjörn who straps a sand castle on his back and is ready to hit the waves.

The Overwatch Summer Event lasts until August 5th so be sure to get on those weekly challenges and trying to unlock the many skins they have to offer. Overwatch is available for purchase on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
