In a recently-published interview with Fortune during E3 2019, Nintendo CEO Doug Bowser was asked to comment about the company’s stance on video game streaming. Other game companies and non-game companies alike have initiatives surrounding this genre of gaming, such as Google’s Stadia and Microsoft’s xCloud. Nintendo, on the other hand, has yet to dedicate a platform towards game streaming.

The Switch delivers on a lot of the promises [of streaming]. It’s a device where you can play anywhere, at any time, with anyone. It’s obviously something that we’re closely watching, and looking at, and understanding.

For the Nintendo Switch, there are some Japan-only streaming experiences, such as Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. However, as previously mentioned, Nintendo is yet to create a service that is dedicated to providing streaming video games on the system.
