Ubisoft had a higher than expected performance in it’s first quarter financial review for the year. Ubisoft credited Assassins Creed Odyssey, Rainbow Six Siege, and player recurring investment for the increase. One other notable number was for PC, which accounted for 34% of Ubisoft’s net bookings for the quarter.
With PC over 24% up, it’s now ahead of PS4 (31%), Xbox One (18%), Nintendo Switch (5%), and mobile games (7%). Ubisoft attributed the PC increase to it’s strategy game Anno 1800. The game is available on Epic Games Store but CFO Frédérick Duguet, said it’s focus was it’s own Uplay Store. Guillemot stance changes a bit when asked about Division 2 which he seems more enthusiastic about on Epic Games Store over Uplay.
Two Anno 1800 expansions, Botanica and Sunken Treasures, where stated for release between July and September in the financial report. A third expansion called The Passage, is planned but not dated.
