Activision Blizzard put out a statement regarding the fate of Jason Blundell. Reports had swirled around that he has been fired from the company, so they had to address the matter.

While we typically don’t comment on rumor, as a personnel matter we feel it’s important to address. Jason has not been fired, and in fact, he continues to direct the zombies experiences for Black Ops 4. In addition, Jason, along with a handful of developers, are working with Activision to develop new creative opportunities.

Blundell has been with Treyarch for years, and in 2016 he was even promoted to the Co-Studio Head of Treyarch. The Call of Duty publisher has yet to confirm if he’s been stripped of that position, as it has only been said that he continues to direct the zombies game mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII.

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12th, 2018. 3 of the 4 DLC packs have been released, so once the final pack comes out that might be Jason’s final time at the Black Ops maker.
