The Pokémon company has announced that its mobile game Pokémon duel will be closing on October 31st. The app which released in 2016 was a strategic board game where players use Pokémon figurines to move around the board and take over the enemy’s base.
It was announced that the games servers will be taken offline meaning the game won’t be playable in any form after the shutdown. Joe Merrick who runs Serebii.net stated on a tweet that the game would be shut down incomplete. This comes off the heels of the game being removed from the Netherlands due to their recent loot box law which banned games with any type of pay to win mechanic.
My problems with Pokémon Duel ending.
1. They never finished the damned single player story
2. The Figure list has so many gaps: https://t.co/xjpxObTnLK This includes obvious ones such as the UX Umbreon which leaves a collection incomplete.
This clearly wasn't planned

Pokémon Duel will be available to play until October 31st on iOS and Android so if you’ve been on the fence try it for a bit until it disappears.
