There is some misinformation going around about how Yves Guillemot confirmed a new Assassin's Creed game set in China.— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) August 3, 2019
What was actually said was that he would love to see a mainline AC based in China but there is nothing he can say today.
Original Story: At ChinaJoy 2019, the partially Tencent owned Ubisoft was at the Chinese event speaking at a conference. Yves Guillemot made an appearance and confirmed that a new mainline Assassin’s Creed title will take place in China.
There was a spinoff that took place in China called Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, which was released in 2015 for PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and PC. It was a 2.5D stealth subseries, so it was nothing too crazy.
The latest game in the series, Odyssey, took place in Ancient Greece, launched in 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch (Japan only), and PC. It will also come to Google Stadia at launch.
Anyone down for an Ancient China Assassin’s Creed game fighting the Mongolians because that sounds better the more I think about it in my head.
