Update: Unfortunately there has been some issues with translation, as Yves said he would LIKE to see a new Assassin’s Creed title set in China. Thank you to ZhugeEX for clarification.

Original Story: At ChinaJoy 2019, the partially Tencent owned Ubisoft was at the Chinese event speaking at a conference. Yves Guillemot made an appearance and confirmed that a new mainline Assassin’s Creed title will take place in China.

There was a spinoff that took place in China called Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, which was released in 2015 for PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and PC. It was a 2.5D stealth subseries, so it was nothing too crazy.

The latest game in the series, Odyssey, took place in Ancient Greece, launched in 2018 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch (Japan only), and PC. It will also come to Google Stadia at launch.

Anyone down for an Ancient China Assassin’s Creed game fighting the Mongolians because that sounds better the more I think about it in my head.

  1. We all remember when Ashraf Ismael said “I’d love to see an assassin’s creed game set in ancient egypt” around the time black flag was released. If someone in this high of a position thinks its a good idea, it’ll probably be done.
