Sony Interactive Entertainment has patented a new dev kit and it turns out, it actually is a real design they’re using for the next PlayStation kits. It won’t be the design of the retail console, but it’s interesting to note that the console has 5 USB ports. Unfortunately, no Type-C ports can be found.

Interestingly enough, this also confirms that Codemasters is working on next generation games which is good to know.

The next PlayStation doesn’t have a date, but Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed that the console will have full backwards compatibility with PS4 and PS VR, alongside physical, digital, and streaming for games.
