While the T-800 will join Mortal Kombat 11 on October 8th and will look just like present day Arnold Schwarzenegger the voice of the character won’t be provided by him. According to The Hollywood Reporter the voice for Terminator will instead be a sound-a-like.

A knowledgable source tells The Hollywood Reporter that Mortal Kombat 11 will not feature Schwarzenegger voicing the role he made famous, though the version in the game does bare the actor’s likeness. Instead, a sound-a-like voice actor was used. Warner Bros. Interactive, who produces the game, also confirmed that Schwarzenegger is not voicing the role.

Schwarzenegger has been an advocate for banning sales of violent video games to minors for a long time, when he was the governor of California he passed a bill that prevented violent games to be sold to teenagers back in 2005. It’s disappointing that Arnold won’t voice one of his most iconic characters for the game but he will be seen as him again when Terminator: Dark Fate releases on November 1st.

Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
