If you’re somebody who uses the Japanese eShop for whatever reason, keep in mind digital purchases are going up this October. Wii U, 3DS, and Nintendo Switch eShop prices are all going up October 1st.

Japan is raising their consumption tax from 8% to 10%, and Nintendo announced their digital prices are going up accordingly. For example, if a game cost ¥300, it’ll instead cost ¥306 after tax.

This is a huge blow to Japanese gamers and gamers outside of Japan who use the Japanese eShop. Higher prices means less money to buy more games and gaming accessories. There’s just under a month left before this tax increase, so be sure get any planned purchases out of the way.
