Well, it seems like we did it, folks. Mega Man is BACK FOR GOOD, and that’s the most satisfying thing I’ve heard in my life.
In an interview with 4Gamer, Kazuhiro Tsuchiya (producer of Mega Man 11) confirmed that, yes, the next major Mega Man title is in development right now. This lines up nicely with a previous statement made by Capcom, saying that another new title in the franchise could enter pre-production in early 2019.
As for specifics, there are none. The only information that we have so far is that Kazuhiro Tsuchiya is now the lead director of the series following his success with Mega Man 11. Basically, Mega Man has a new, metaphorical papa now after Keiji Inafune left Capcom well over half a decade ago. Personally, Mega Man 11 is one of my favorite games of all time, so I have good faith that Tsuchiya will take great care of the blue bomber.
