In another Wired piece, Sony Interactive Entertainment confirms that PlayStation 5 is the next name of the 5th generation PlayStation home console and it’ll launch in late 2020.

Mark Cerny confirms that the PlayStation 5 will have a 4K Blu-Ray Player with 100GB Blu-Ray support.

The DualShock 5 (although Cerny didn’t officially call it that) has adaptive triggers for more force and resistance in games where you have to shoot a bow and arrow. It’ll also feature hapitc feedback, so the rumble system will be so much greater. The controller charges via USB-C and has a larger battery as well.

PS5’s UI will be completely revamped, it’ll also feature the ability to join multiplayer games straight from the OS.

Game installs get a little different this time around, with players able to uninstall various parts of the game to only have multiplayer or only have single player. This might be because the SSD isn’t that large in size and you could only have a select amount of games on it.

Bluepoint Games, makers of the Shadow of the Colossus Remake confirms they’re working on a PS5 title and that its a big one.

Sony also confirmed that this is PlayStation 5’s development kit.
