Kyle Hefley got hired as the lead character artist for Retro Studios, the team behind Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze, but more notably the Metroid Prime series. Hefley has over 14 years of experience and more than 20 titles under his belt. He’s worked on the Halo series, including the upcoming Halo Infinite, and also games like Call of Duty: Black Ops and Sleeping Dogs.

While this recent hiring implies Metroid Prime 4 is still early in development, it’s still very exciting. Hefley’s work with Halo 4, 5, and Infinite will translate well to Metroid’s similar sci-fi setting. I can’t wait to see his Prime 4 renders once they’re made public, and to see them in action when the game eventually comes out.
