Today, Ubisoft confirmed that multiple titles will be releasing on both current generation and next generation platforms during their earnings. The lineup is for Fiscal Year 2021 (April 2020-March 2021), which includes:

  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Quarantine
  • Gods & Monsters
  • Watch Dogs: Legion
  • TBA
  • TBA

The publisher has multiple unannounced projects in the works, so a few will be announced at a later date. Having upgraded versions might mean new SKUs but it could be similar to PS4 to PS4 Pro where it is just a patch. We don’t know how Sony nor Microsoft plans on taking stuff like free upgrades. Sony does have their Cross-Buy initiative while Microsoft has Xbox Play Anywhere, so adoption rates could be really fast. With that being said, Ubisoft might feel the need to put out multiple games for next generation since they know people will use them.

A few probable and key differences between last generation and this generation could be native 4K, 60fps, Ray Tracing, vastly improved texture filtering, draw distances, and more. When PS4 Pro launched, Ubisoft was hesitant on multiple titles being enhanced and only enhancing a few, so to see them jumping straight into PS5 and Xbox Scarlett is a welcomed change.
