Pokémon Sword and Shield introduced a new mechanic called Dynamaxing which made Pokémon become larger and have devastating attacks but Gigantamaxing is when a Pokémon changes it’s form and certain attacks can effect your opponents. Earlier today a new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield was revealed that showcased the starters evolutions and the event for Gigantamax Snorlax. When Snorlax changes forms a tree and patches of grass form across its belly making it look like a park path.

Gigantamaxing can only be done by specific Pokémon species and even then only a those in max raid battles can change forms with Snorlax having the move G-Max Replenish which lets Snorlax to get another berry if it already used one. The Gigantamax Snorlax event will go on from December 4th until sometime in early January. The photo below shows that Snorlax will be available from as low as 3 star max raid battles meaning it shouldn’t be that hard to beat the gigantic behemoth but catching is a different story.
