Over Thanksgiving weekend, Microsoft and EA aired a commercial for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that included spoilers. Now, I don’t want to talk about it since not everyone played the game since it just launched a few weeks prior, so we’re just going to leave it at that.

However, it’s incredibly scummy for this trailer to air when millions are watching TV with family and are asking for this game for Christmas, or they’re talking about the game in general not trying to spoil anything then this happens. It’s really not cool for either party to do this.

Respawn Entertainment’s staff even were pissed the hell off and rightfully so. They worked insanely hard to avoid spoilers for fans and now shit like this appears on TV for countless people to see. It’s not funny and if I were Respawn I’d personally start something to make sure EA couldn’t air trailers or something along those lines. A developer of this caliber does have leverage over their owner, it’s like Sony screwing over Naughty Dog, they have the power to tell Sony to stop since they’re so huge and beloved. Respawn has to try and make things right.

I don’t necessarily want to embed the video since it will auto play on some browsers and devices but if you’d like to see it, click here.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
