Ever since the launch of NieR: Automata in 2017, the series has received monumental success and with Square Enix launching a 10th anniversary website (only in Japanese at the time of writing), with news on the series coming at a later date. I would really be open to the first NieR game being remastered for current platforms, simply because if I want to play it now, I have to dig out my Xbox 360. First world problems, right?

NieR: Automata is one of my favourite games of all-time and I’m looking forward to see what Yoko Taro will do with the third instalment of NieR, whatever that would entail or a Drakengard 4 (the series of which NieR is a spin off). It will also be interesting to see if PlatinumGames will be involved as well. The Game Awards are next week and that will be full of announcements, although it might be too much of an ask for a reveal at the show.

We will be sure to keep you updated on the process of a new NieR game in the future.

Thanks for the heads up, Nibellion on Twitter!
