Nihom Falcom’s JRPG series has found quite the cult following over the past couple of years. With the latest in the series releasing earlier this year in October to respectable fanfare, it has now been confirmed The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III will release on the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2020 in the West. Coming some time later in Japan. Which is a first for the series. There will also be a demo of the game on the Nintendo Switch for those unsure.
Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch version will run at 720p docked with a locked framerate of 30. Which is a shame but if it gets the best performance out of the game with those settings it’s understandable.
Of course, there will be special editions with the release of this game. The Extracurricular Edition will include the base game, a 20-page artbook and a reversable cover, with the Thors Academy Edition (below) will come with everything in the Extracurricular Edition along with a box set including a steelbook, game soundtrack, postcards and a Mishy plushie. The good thing is that all versions will include all the previously released DLC. There are no confirmed prices yet for the special editions of the game.
