A new article on the Battlefront forms details the content for the Rise of Skywalker update and announces a new version of Star Wars Battlefront 2 will make its way to digital storefronts starting tomorrow. Dubbed the Celebration Edition it will come with 100 emotes, 90 victory poses and over 150 appearances with 6 legendary skins. This version of the game will retail for $39.99 or those who want to upgrade from their base game can do so for $24.99.
In the same post they detail the new content coming later this month to promote the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, a new jungle planet based on one of the trailers will be added with four new soldiers joining the battle. A Sith Trooper and First Order Jet Trooper will be fighting for the First Order while Gunner and Spy join the ranks of the Resistance. Alongside this there will also be new costumes for Kylo Ren, Rey and Finn based on the upcoming movie which will be free to those who upgrade to the Celebration Edition. The Rise of Skywalker update will go live on December 17th with the new Jungle map joining rotation on December 20th.
Starting in January two new heroes will be joining in the form of BB-8 and BB-9E which are the droids in the new trilogy of films, it’s not currently clear how they will function but it’ll be interesting to see their playstyle.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
