Despite all the rumors, trademarks, etc: the highly requested Xenosaga HD Collection just isn’t happening. Katsuhiro Harada from Bandai Namco stated this when asked about it on Twitter. Apparently, there were plans for such a project but it was turned down due to failing market analysis. This means they wanted to do it, but came to the conclusion the money just isn’t there.

What’s even more interesting is that Harada had talked to Monolithsoft about a Xenosaga HD collection:

For those who don’t know, Monolithsoft were the developers of the original Xenosaga. They were owned by Namco at the time, but were later bought out by Nintendo in 2007. This means if the Xenosaga HD Collection were to be greenlit, it would’ve likely been a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Is there still hope for a Xenosaga HD collection? In my opinion, probably not. The only hope for an HD collection would be if Nintendo was interested in an exclusivity deal, but it doesn’t seem they are. If Xenosaga gets re released in any way, getting bare minimum ports on modern platforms seems like the most likely scenario.
