For the past few years Sony has been trying to create a movie based on the popular Uncharted franchise and today the production hit another bump in the road. Deadline reports that Travis Knight who was hired to direct the movie back in September has left the project Knight’s most notable successes being Bumblebee and Kubo and The Two Strings, with his departure from this film it makes him the 6th director to leave the production since 2009. Both Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are still attached to play both Nathan Drake and Victor “Sully” Sullivan respectively, Deadline reports that the main reason for Knight’s departure is the scheduling conflicts with Holland’s upcoming Spider-Man 3 project. No word on who the next director will be but it’s safe to assume that Sony is already looking for a replacement, the Uncharted movie will focus on a young Nathan Drake as he and Sully go on an adventure together.
