One of the main developers of Skies of Arcadia has expressed a desire to create a sequel. Kenji Hiruta, a member of the development team for the original game has replied to a tweet on Twitter from user Pixelbgr, that he really, really wants to make a sequel. His reply is below.

Try not to get your hopes up too much though, there would still be many hoops that are needed to be jumped through before Hiruta even thinks about starting pre-production. Personally I would love a new Skies of Arcadia, it’s been about 20 years since the first game on the Dreamcast and about 18 years since the port on the Nintendo Gamecube. I feel a rerelease is more likely to potentially test the waters if anything at all but one day, I dream of a sequel. Although I’ll settle for a remaster at this point.
