When Sony Interactive Entertainment let Sony Online Entertainment go independent, being skeptical was an understatement. Daybreak Games, now split into 3 studios, has been slowly coming up with more games since the departure from the PlayStation giant.

Unfortunately, even years after the launch of the second title, PlanetSide 3 is nowhere to be necessarily seen. This is mainly due to PlanetSide Arena being canceled and the team shifting over to full development of this game. Executive Producer Andy Sites spoke to DualShockers about the future of the series though, in which he states “pretty epic plans” are to follow:

We have some pretty epic plans for the sequel, but it’s likely a conversation for another time.

PlanetSide 3’s release is currently TBA. It is also unknown if it’ll hit current consoles or next generation platforms.
