It’s been a long road coming but all good things must come to an end. Today, Activision has announced that the next Grand Prix for Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will be its last. According to Activision’s Game Blog here, they plan to announce the final grand prix next week. In addition, they explained that they and Beenox thank all the players for supporting the game. But it doesn’t end as they will continue to support the game by adding a few new features.
One of the first is a Challenge System. This gives players a chance to complete challenges, acquire Wumpa Coins and customize their time with new items from the pit stop. The Challenges will adhere to all game modes, not just online. They also come in three kinds: Daily, Weekly and Pro (Monthly). Completing them will give players Wumpa Coins that they can use to purchase stuff in the shop. Plus the Pit Stop will feature stuff from every Grand Prix season. Players can not only buy what they miss but can refresh twice per day, giving them more choices to choose what they want.
Second is new Time Trials. After the Final Grand Prix, Beenox will be releasing a new set of time trials that will push even the best CTR racers to their limits. Plus many of these times are based off those completed by the Beenox team. Completing all of them will net players a special reward that shows they truly are the best of the best.
And in addition, Activision and Beenox will continue to have more post-Grand Prix content such as new Characters, Karts, Skins, Re-colros, Decals and Paint Jobs. There’s a lot that this game will have. CTR Nitro-Fueled is already to the brim in terms of content and with this, they will continue to crank out more in the coming weeks and months. The races aren’t over after the Grand Prix end. It has only just begun.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
