During Sony IR Day 2019, Sony Corp noted under Sony Interactive Entertainment’s section that the subsidary will have a 5G device.
Sony will pursue its mission to make PlayStation “The Best Place to Play” by leveraging the latest computing, streaming, cloud, and 5G technologies, together with excellent content.
This is hinting at a PlayStation console with 5G connectivity, which could mean a new PlayStation handheld or even a home console for whatever reason having this ability to use the internet for cell networks. It could also be a fully wireless PlayStation VR unit like the Oculus Quest.
